My name is Kelly, I’m 21 years old, and I am a firm believer in enjoying life to the fullest, because there’s only one life that we know we have, so we may as well have fun being here!
I label myself as an agnostic, but I feel like reincarnation makes sense to me. I think it would make sense that new souls to this world are the people that fuck up the most in life, and as the souls keep coming back, they get to be wiser and more experienced people, and then when they finally figure everything out, their soul graduates and doesn’t have to go through our world again.
I believe myself to be a rational person, so I do not by any means believe this 100%, I just personally think it makes sense. I just watched Religiousity, a documentary on religion by Bill Maher, and he said, “doubt is the only appropriate response for human beings.”, which I completely agree with. I don’t think that anyone should believe in God or religion or whatever 100%, because face it, no one will EVER know the truth until after they’re dead.
Anyway, I recently deleted my tumblr account because it sucked so much of my time away, and one of my close friends described what I got out of tumblr (and what he gets out of Reddit) as “mindless entertainment”. That I just scroll through my dashboard for pages and pages and it didn’t ever engage my brain, it was just “LOL REBLOG” and the occasional text post.
I’ve decided that I would like to have a blog where I actually write meaningful things and have somewhere to share myself with others, and maybe even think a little bit. ; )
So after a quick websearch, I decided to give WordPress a try, because LifeHacker describes it as an ideal blog site for long posts. So here we are. : )
Something I would like to stop doing is starting sentences with “So”. It seems I do that a lot. : P
Anyhow, here are some things about the current Kelly:
- I am watching the original Sailor Moon anime from start to finish and I have watched 80/200 so far. I love it because it’s cheesy and cute, but it has also gotten pretty real a few times, which definitely caught me off guard.
- I am in my final quarter of community college and I will have my Associates Degree by 2013. : D
- I am not totally positive if/when I am transferring to a 4-year university, but I am considering attending University of Washington next Fall (I haven’t even applied yet). If I do transfer somewhere, I want to major in Japanese because I love everything about Japan, and no, I’m not the weeaboo your mother warned you about. I prefer the label “raging otaku” or “kawaii princess”, thank you very much. ;P
I will commit to posting at least once a week.
